i’m busy on marina lewycka’s book : “a short history of tractor in Ukrainian”. knew this book from alaya.
marina lewycka by this book won an orange prize (short listed). a prize for fiction writing.
“two caravans” won the orwell prize of 2008. the orwell prize is a British prize for political writing… they are awarded to a book or jurnalism which is judged to have best achieved George Orwell’s aim to make political writing in to an art. huuu… sounds serious.
one of the commencement conversation: “tak tak. yes yes. i know. passport. visa. work permit. so vat?” * i like the ’so vat’ part. so ukrainian. and it reminds me of someone. she said by marrying her brother, i would be able to stay here forevah.
